Roger Federer Defeated Mischa Zverev In The Australian Open 2017

Roger Federer beats Mischa Zverev in an exciting thriller to reach the semi-final of the Australian Open 2017. Federer won the game by 6-1, 7-5, 6-2.

The Swiss master has been in superb form in Melbourne. Federer won his first set quiet easily by 6-1, as the opponent looked helpless in front of him. In the second set, Misha showed some resistance but failed to continue and lost the set by 7-5. But in the last set, Federer gave no mercy and won the game in a clear cut way by 6-2.

Federer has given a statement after winning-:

“Zverev played an incredible tournament, great win against Isner and backed it up by beating Andy. I was so happy for him, he’s gone through some tough times and it’s great to see guys like that back on the court. Unfortunately not so many serve and volleyers anymore, but it makes for nice points. Lots of passing shots and forehand winners, and very athletic. It’s great to watch”

He further added-:

“The courts have become slower and I had to adapt to my style, but conditions here are quicker and I hope Zverev inspires players to do what he’s done in the future. I didn’t expect to play Stan in the semis, I thought maybe I’d win a few rounds and reach the fourth round or quarters. ¬†That was before I saw the draw! I’m happy I’ve played as well as I have, and I can’t wait to play Stan. He’s a clutch player now, won a slam last few years, Davis Cup – I saw it close by. I have to stay aggressive – he’s probably the biggest hitter in the game”

Federer will face Stan Wawrinka in the Semi-finals.
