The sequel to SS Rajamouli’s historical epic RRR, which stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the key roles, is now under production. A sequel is planned, according to Vijayendra Prasad, the father of Rajamouli and the Oscar-winning film’s screenwriter.
Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, two Telugu superstars, will both return for the sequel, according to Vijayendra. Part 2 might not, however, stick to the same plot. It is probably based on a different passage from the Telugu states’ pre-Independence era.
In conversation with Telugu channel, Vijayendra averred, “We are planning to make a sequel of Ram Charan and NTR’s RRR. The movie will be directed by SS Rajamouli or someone else under his supervision.”
Vijayendra also hinted at the possibility that Rajamouli may not direct the sequel of RRR. However, he will remain associated with the project as someone “under his supervision” would helm the film, in case he chooses not to.
Mahesh Babu will star in Rajamouli’s upcoming adventure film, provisionally titled SSMB 29, which is reminiscent of an Indiana Jones film. After that, Rajamouli will probably focus on his adaptation of the Mahabharata, which will be released as a 10-part series.
A Telugu movie called RRR was also dubbed into Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. Bollywood superstars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn also starred in it. The song Naatu Naatu from the movie, written by MM Keeravani, became a worldwide sensation after the dance performance won India its first-ever Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song.
