Suddenly there are new rumors about the role of Wolverine. We know that Marvel Studios plans to take an in-depth look at the future of the X-Men in the franchise. Quite a few people also have questions about Wolverine’s future.
The character was played for years by actor Hugh Jackman , who played him so well that the actor and character have kind of fused together. You say Wolverine, you think of Jackman. A possible next actor will therefore have a hard time as a successor.
A series with Karl Urban?
According to That Hashtag Show , Disney + is now working with Marvel Studios on an anthology series about Wolverine. Logan would follow him at various times in his life. That’s how we would see him at Department K, following his transformation into Weapon X.
With this series, Marvel would like to take an opportunity to explore “Wolverine’s extensive history, without affecting a role he might have in an X-Men movie.”
On top of that, there’s Giant Freakin Robot that claims Marvel is looking to The Boys star Karl Urban for the role of Wolverine. Next to him would Taron Egertonactually the top favorite, but the actor would be too busy with other projects and therefore not be able to draw. For that reason, this monster job would go to Urban, number two on the list.
If that’s right, that’s a special story, as we’ve already seen Urban in the MCU as Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok . At the same time, it is more common in the MCU that people have double roles. Just think of Gemma Chan who appeared as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel and plays the hero Sersi in Eternals .
