Salim Khan stood in solid defence of his son Salman Khan as India’s Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics. He said that although his son is not a sportsperson but he takes the keen interest in sports. The appointment left much puzzled as Salman is not a sportsman nor has he ever pushed their cause in a big way.
In order to defend his son, He started insulting the flying Sikh of India, ‘Milkha Singh’. However, there are many sportspersons who were probably the best contenders for becoming the ambassador for the Rio Olympics. Salim Khan twitted :-
Such shameful tweets from Salim Khan are totally worthless and he has titled his image to a very great extent.

Cricketer Gautam Gambhir also said that he would have liked a sportsman as the brand ambassador. Despite all the appraisals, The Indian Olympic Association Stood by its decision.
