The Khan clan is one of the most popular families in the B’Town. Salman Khan considers his family Mini India. The reason behind it is their family includes people of Hindu, Muslim and Christian religion. They all live along with each other under one roof. His father is a Hindu whereas mother is a Rajput Hindu. His second mother Helen is a Christian and younger brothers Arbaaz and Sohail Khan’s wives Malaika Arora and Seema Sachdev respectively are Punjabis.
In April 2015, Salman Khan told he is an Indian by caste in the Jodhpur Court. He was there for the hearing of his 1998 Arms Act charge. During this when the Judge asked about his caste he replied, I’m an Indian. After hearing his answer Judge said that We all are Indians so he replied, “Actually my father is a Muslim and mother is a Hindu, so consider myself an Indian.”
Salman Khan’s father, Salim is married to two ladies concurrently. His first marriage was to Sushila Charak, a Hindu Rajput, on 18 November 1964. Sushila’s father, Baldev Singh Charak, was a Hindu Dogra Rajput from Jammu, while her mother was a Maharashtrian Hindu lady. In 1981, Khan married actress Helen Richardson, a Christian lady whose father was Anglo-Indian and mother was Burmese. Salman’s sisters Alvira and Arpita too married in different religions.
