Just one video and she became a sensation overnight. Ranu Mondal, a widow was a beggar just a few days ago, she used to beg by singing Bollywood’s old melodies on the railway stations of West Bengal. While she was crooning Lata Mangeshkar’s song ‘Ek Pyaar ka Nagma Hai’ a passenger named Atindra Chakraborty started shooting her with his mobile camera and put the video online.
It got a massive response and Ranu Mondal became an internet star. After listening to her voice, Ranu is getting many singing offers from Kolkata, Kerela and Bangladesh. She also gets an offer from Mumbai in a singing reality show. Recently she recorded a song with Himesh Reshammiya too for his upcoming movie ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’. She also recorded the song titled ‘Teri Meri Kahaani‘ with Himesh.

Now, according to the latest reports, Salman Khan has gifted a house to Ranu worth Rs 55 lakh. Moreover, the report says that Salman will also record a song with Ranu for Dabangg 3. Well, there is no official confirmation yet made by Ranu or Salman about the same.

Talking about giving a break to Ranu, Himesh had said, “Salman Bhai’s father Salim uncle once advised me that whenever in life I come across a talented person, I should never let that person go and keep him/her close to me. He advised me to help that person grow his/her talent. When I met Ranu ji, I realised she is blessed with divinity. Her singing was mesmerising and I could not stop myself from offering her the best I could.”
