At the opening ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival, Salman Khan is accompanied by Anil Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt, Sourav Ganguly, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. At the festival’s official opening, Mamata Banerjee escorted the Tiger 3 star and other performers to the stage. Salman and other participants lit a lantern on stage to begin the celebration and raised their hands.
Salman looked stunning in all black. On stage, commemorative trophies were given to each of the celebrities. Actor Dev Adhikari from Bengal met Salman with a warm reception.
To everyone’s amazement, Mamata Banerjee unexpectedly joined Salman Khan and company on stage to dance to the music from the film she conceptualized this year. It is voiced by Arijit Singh. In a video, Salman, Mahesh Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi, and Shatrughan Sinha were seen grooving alongside Mamata. By their side, Sourav Ganguly could be seen clapping.
The Chief Minister also sang Banglar Mati, Banglar Jol by Rabindranath Tagore at the function.

Ace cricketer Ganguly said, “Welcome to Kolkata, my favourite Mr Salman Khan. It’s a coincidence that I have met him for the first time here in person. In all these years, this is the first time I have met him in person and I said that when I saw him down that it’s unfortunate that we never met before.”

Starting Monday, the Kolkata International Film Festival is expected to run through December 12. In Kolkata, the inaugural ceremony is being held at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Salman Khan was greeted by musician and politician Babul Supriya at the airport in Kolkata. He’s expected back in Mumbai by Tuesday evening.
Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt attended the film festival’s opening ceremony last year. Sourav Ganguly took Shah Rukh’s position as the West Bengal brand ambassador earlier this year.
