Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan continues to rule at the box office and has now emerged as the highest grosser of 2015, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. “Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the highest grosser of 2015 (so far). Total: Rs 240.72 crore,” Mr Adarsh tweeted. Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is now galloping towards Rs 300 crore, he added.
This is the second successive time that the Kabir Khan-Salman Khan combination has set the box office on fire. Their last project Ek Tha Tiger was also a massive hit at the box office. . Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has Salman Khan in the title role along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Harshaali Malhotra, and Om Puri.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which was released on more than 4,900 screens across 50 countries on 17 July, has made a strong mark overseas also.
Earlier in the week, Bajrangi Bhaijaan had clinched the record of fastest-ever Hindi movie to collect Rs 100 crore, according to its global distributor Eros International Media.
Trade analysts have predicted that Bajrangi Bhaijaan may become Salman Khan’s highest grossing movie ever.
Produced by Salman Khan Films (SKF) and Rockline Venkatesh, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is set against the backdrop of a mute 6-year old (played by Harshaali Malhotra) getting lost in India, and Salman Khan fighting all odds to get her back home to her parents across the border.
