Sandra Bullock is taking a break from acting, she tells The Hollywood Reporter. The Bird Box actress is struggling with burnout.
“I don’t want to be tied to anyone’s schedule other than mine now,” said 57-year-old Bullock.
“I am completely burned out. I am so tired and now unable to make sound and sensible decisions,” the American continues. She also says that she has no idea when she will go back to work.
Bullock explains that her acting has always provided a stable factor in her life. She considers that lucky, but it also became a kind of fixed value from which she herself gained recognition.
“I always felt like opening a fridge and looking for something that was never in that fridge. I said to myself, ‘Don’t go looking for it, because you’re not going to find it here. You already have it: recognize this, find it and find peace in the thought that you don’t need your work to have a right to exist.'”
Bullock started acting in the late 1980s and had her big break in the film Speed (1994), alongside Keanu Reeves. She went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, winning an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side (2009).
The actress is currently starring in the action movie The Lost City and soon in the movie Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt.
