Aamir Khan is the superstar of the Bollywood currently. He has given back to back hits and proved that he is the only Mr. Perfectionist in the Bollywood. One of Aamir Khan’s superhit film was Ghulam. The film got released 20 years ago. Did you know that Sanjay Dutt also has a very strong connection with film?

Film Ghulam was directed by Vikram Bhatt, it got released on June 19, 1998. Aamir portrayed the role of street smart boxer, known as a Tapori in Mumbai’s language. Rani Mukerji was Aamir’s leading lady in the film. Rajat Kapoor played the elder brother of Aamir Khan.

So what’s the Sanjay Dutt-Ghulam connection?

If you think that Aamir Khan doesn’t work in film sequels or remakes then you are wrong. Actually, the 1998 film Ghulam was Sanjay Dutt’s film Kabza‘s remake. Kabza got released in 1988, directed by Mahesh Bhatt. Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan wrote its script. The film starred Sanjay Dutt along with Raj Babbar, Amrita Singh and Paresh Rawal.

Well, Kabza was also not an original film. It was based on 1954’s American’s classic “On The Waterfront”. In this film legendary actor, Marlon Brando was in a lead role.
