What if the Moon came close to Earth someday? Many such fantasies can take place in the human mind, but is all this really possible! Roland Emmerich, the successful director of films like ‘Independence Day’, ‘The Day After Tomorrow’, ‘10,000 BC’ is all set to hit the Indian screens on February 11 with similar fantasies with his upcoming science-fiction film ‘Moonfall’.
The film centers on a former astronaut-turned-NASA executive (Halle Berry) who, together with an astronaut from his past (Wilson) and a conspiracy theorist (John Bradley), must save Earth from impending disaster. This could prove to be Earth’s last chance when the Moon is on its way to a fatal collision with the planet. Indeed, when a mysterious force pulls the Moon out of its orbit around Earth and sends it on a collision course with life as we know it on this planet.
The apocalypse is approaching and with no support from the authorities, he has only one former ally and a conspiracy theorist who wants to return. What happens after this is the crux of the thriller film. It’s weeks before a mysterious power takes effect and the world is on the verge of utter destruction, but NASA executive Joe Fowler devises a plan to save everyone with an impossible last-minute mission into space. Only to find out that our Moon isn’t what we think it is… it’s hollow! But what is there?
