Sean “Diddy” Combs is in more trouble with 120 expected new claims of sexual assault. These lawsuits not only accuse him of sexual assault but also sex trafficking, both charges of which are very serious.
On October 1st, after new accusers came to light, the lawyer Tony Buzbee released more information about the case. He said that the persons accusing Diddy are both male and female and that the allegations are as old as 1991. Most of these people argue that they were sexually assaulted and drugged at that time. The lawyer pointed out that those who sought an opportunity to be in the music or entertainment industry were coerced or locked into such situations with promises of fame and fortune.
In an interview with the press, Buzbee said that as these legal actions are initiated, several high-profile personalities may be named. The legal cases will not only target him. But also seek to bring those who the lawsuit claims knew about the malpractice and kept quiet. Some of them are Universal Music Group, Epic Records, and Bad Boy Entertainment which belongs to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and other franchises such as banks, companies dealing in pharmaceutical products, hotels, etc. To Buzbee’s mind, this legal course is going to reveal many “dirty secrets”. And reveal the actions of the powerful individuals who may have been engaged or at least, who kept silent about these misconducts.
If all of these lawsuits move forward, Diddy could end up facing a total of 132 different cases involving accusations of sexual assault. The accusers are in 25 states with most of them from California, New York, Georgia, and Florida. More disturbingly, one of the accusers was just nine years old when the alleged sexual abuse happened. The second one was 14 years. Of the new 120 allegations, 25 of the accused were under the age of 18 years. At the time that these incidences are alleged, to have occurred.
Impact on Diddy’s Career
Currently Diddy is in prison after being declined bail for the second time. They have applied in another application for bail through his lawyers. The federal authorities have indicted him for sex trafficking. And engaged in racketeering activity by managing a vast criminal enterprise through which he sponsored women and trafficked them and his business associates since 2008. Also, he has been accused of conveyances for purposes of prostitution as well as making a living through prostitution.
These allegations give a very negative picture of Diddy’s behavior. And are likely to have a long-term impact on his career, especially if more evidence surfaces in the coming lawsuits.
