The superstar of the Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is in news not for his films but for his sister. Yes, his cousin sister from the paternal side, Noor Jehan is set to contest the upcoming general elections in Pakistan on July 25 from a constituency in Peshawar.
Noor Jehan already filed her nominations to fight in the polls. She will be contesting from the PK-77 constituency of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly. She stated that,
“I want to work for women’s empowerment. I’d like to focus on the problems in my constituency.”
Her brother, Mansoor, told that her sister had previously served as a counselor and their family had been a part of the Khudai Khidmatgar (Servants of Gods) movement during the pre-Independence days. The movement was led by freedom activist Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.
Once in an event, Shah Rukh Khan said that he wanted to take his children to Peshawar. He said that my family belongs to Peshawar. Even now many of his family members live there. he said,
“I’m excited to visit Peshawar along with my children because my father also took me there when I was 15.”
