Actor Shah Rukh Khan along with his team consisting of five members while boarding from Sharjah through a charter flight were restricted to go beyond by the General Aviation (GA) Terminal also known as private terminal of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Saturday. The team was stopped by the Air Intelligence Unit, Customs department as the actor carried some dutiable goods which was found during the checks.
In the baggage, an apple iWatch of around Rs. 75,000 and six empty boxes of expensive watches were found, as per a senior customer officer. The overall value of these items were Rs. 17.86 lakhs, the officer further added. Shah Rukh’s bodyguard Ravi Shankar Singh was been called to make the payment for the high-end items. Singh paid Rs. 6.8 lakh, which covers 38.5 percent of the total goods’ value.
However, it was unclear that whether the actor was trying to abscond from the customs therefore no penalty was imposed on him.
On Friday, Shah Rukh was felicitated with the coveted Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative award at the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2022 at Expo Centre conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A clip floated on Twitter and the caption read, “He spoke about the fact that the world, and events such as the SIBF, are the cornerstones on which bridges that connect the cultures of the world will be built.”
Shah Rukh will be next featured in Pathaan with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The action feature will hit the theaters in January, 2023. He will also star in Dunki with Taapsee Pannu, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, and Jawan directed by Atlee, starring Nayanthara.
