Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s second movie of the year, is making waves in the Indian film business far before its official release. The sale of the film’s music rights for an unparalleled amount of money has been made public.
According to a Box Office Worldwide report, T-Series paid Rs 36 crore for the music rights of Jawan. T-Series has acquired the music rights to the action-thriller despite competition from other music labels.
Shah Rukh Khan appears in Jawan, directed by Atlee, who also helmed the films Bigil and Mersal, in a hitherto unseen role. In the movie, he is partnered by Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, two talent powerhouses. The movie features an ensemble cast in addition to the three A-list actors.
The constant questions Shah Rukh receives from his followers about the teaser and trailer of the movie on social media show how popular Jawan is. A fan asked SRK during one of his Ask Me Anything sessions if he could take some cash and release Jawan right away.
“Bhai, 100-200 zyda Lelo par #jawaan movie kal hi release kar do,” a fan mentioned in a tweet to Shah Rukh.
Another fan asked about the teaser launch of the film to which the actor replied, “It’s all ready getting other assets in place. Don’t worry it’s all in a happy place…#Jawan”.
The premiere of Jawan is set for September 7. Deepika Padukone makes a cameo appearance in the movie as well. Following Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan has the December release of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki.
