Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Jawan is set to be released in Japanese theaters following its record-setting year as the highest-grossing film in 2023. Recently, the film has been released on Netflix and it has been one year since it premiered. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, actors Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi have played pivotal roles in Jawan, while Deepika Padukone has made a cameo appearance in it.
Shah Rukh Khan could not hide the joy of the movie’s release in Japan on November 29 by putting up a post on X, formerly Twitter. He wrote, “A story of justice, revenge, villains and heroes… A story of Jawan… in Japanese theaters for the first time.” undefined He went on to state that the exciting action and drama which has been enjoyed by many will now be witnessed in Japan. On September 7, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated one year of Jawan. He thanked the film director Atlee saying that without Atlee, the movie could not have been made. Before Jawan, another Indian movie RRR directed by SS Rajamouli was released in Japan and got an excellent response. RRR performed exceptionally well, earning over Rs 137 crore at the Japanese box office and running uninterrupted for 220 days. Jawan has grossed over Rs. 1,148.32 crore worldwide, solidifying its status as the highest-grossing film 2023.
