NEW DELHI: While everyone is focusing on the Visa policy of United States for the IT professionals from other countries, in the mean time Singapore is going to cut Visas for Indian IT professionals.
The Government of Singapore is advising Indian companies to hire local IT professionals. And companies are looking to relocate their operations to other countries. Many companies including HCL, TCS, Infosys has their operational offices in Singapore.
“This (visa problem) has been lingering for a while but since early-2016, visas are down to a trickle. All Indian companies have received communication on fair consideration, which basically means hiring local people,” Nasscom president R Chandrashekhar told TOI.
According to Reports Singapore Officials were forcing Economic Needs TEST (ENT), to deny access to Indian professionals to Singapore. ENT requires certain economic criteria to fulfill which is not easy to achieve.
“They are doing it despite the CECA clearly stating that there will be no ENT or quotas on agreed services. This is a violation of the agreement,” said an Indian officer.
India has plenty of IT professionals, and with these kind of conditions applied by countries will harm IT business in India and will impact the hiring of new talents.
