In a major setback to Sufi industry, Pyarelal Wadali, one of the singers of Sufi set Wadali Brothers, died in Amritsar. The death has caused due to cardiac arrest. Late Pyarelal Wadali, was the younger brother of Ustad Puran Chand Wadali and the duo was very famous both in regional and Bollywood cinema.
Pyarelal admitted to Fortis Hospital on Thursday night at around 11 pm and remained there for about 5 years as the doctors tried to revive him. He took his last breath at 4:00 am in the morning.
Wadali Brothers Career
Wadali Brothers began performing at Harballah temple in Jalandhar.They first started as bhajan singers and later ventured into the Sufi genre.
The duo further carried on the legacy of famous saint poets such as Bulle Shah, Kabir, Amir Khusro and Surdas for years.
In Bollywood, they sang songs such as Aye Rangrez Mere (Tanu Weds Manu; 2011) and Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi (Mausam; 2011).
The fifth generation of singers- Wadali Brothers
Pyarelal came from the fifth generation of singers-cum-musicians. Some of Pyarelal’s rememberable compositions are Tu maane yaa na maane dildara, Sauda ikko jeha and Heer.
