Australia and Sri Lanka will be looking forward to select the best squad for the upcoming T20 world cup and this series but be critically significant for both the teams.
While many players have performed well in the Indian Premiere League, they got an upper hand while choosing the playing XI, keeping in mind their fitness and practice.
” The boys have performed well with their respective franchises in the IPL and this is a confident side. We have grown as a team over the past few months. Happy to bat first, looks like a good surface,” stated Sri Lankan captain Dasun.
Australia have opted to bowl first as the Colombo pitch seems bit dry and skipper Finch thinks that batting in the second innings might be advantageous to them.
“We will bowl first, looks like a very good wicket and we back ourselves to chase any score down. A bit dry, but should be a good batting surface once the bal goes soft. Maxwell has shown both for Australia and in the IPL that he can bowl at any time and at any stage of the game, so we are happy to go with just one specialist spinner,” says skipper Finch.
