Snapchat Drone: Take Pictures And Videos From Above

Snap.Inc has been playing with drones. According to the reports from The New York Times, the firm created a drone that lets its app users take pictures and video from above. The team is said to be working secretly on a remotely controlled flying machine (drone).

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said in a 35-minute video: “We feel like we’re really at the beginning of what cameras can do, evolve from being just a piece of hardware to software connected to the internet. We believe that reinventing the camera represents our greatest opportunity to improve the way that people live and communicate. Our products empower people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.”

Snap. Inc has been in conversations with drone companies. Snap has its video-camera equipped sunglasses (Spectacles, to offer as a camera). Also, Snap has said it planned to price its offering at $14 to $16 a share, which would value the company at as much as $22.2 billion.

The company was founded on September 16, 2011, by Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy. Its products include Snapchat and Spectacles, as well as the Bitmoji app. On December 31, 2013, the Snapchat was hacked and 4.6 million usernames and phone numbers were leaked to the Internet.

One of the principal concepts of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are only available for a short time before they become inaccessible.
