Multi-lingual actor Sonu Sood is a well-known name not only for his acting but more so for his philanthropic work, especially in a pandemic. He has inspired and given hope to millions. He originates for Punjab, Moga district, a place wherein his sister, Malvika Sood, is contesting election on a Congress ticket.

The reason for the seize
Malvika joined the congress party on January 10 formally after deciding to join politics full time. Her brother actor Sonu Sood tried to enter the polling booth when the 117 -seat Punjab legislative assembly was going on. As per law, no one is allowed to enter the polling booth area; hence the actor’s car was confiscated and sent home.
The public relations officer of Moga District stated the same to media persons. The official was clear to state that if Sonu Sood steps out of his house during polling, action would be taken against him for not abiding by the law.
What Sony had to say
Sonu Sood, in his statement, said he had gone out to check if there was any truth in the news he had received that there was a distribution of money going on in some of the polling booths. He also said that the opposition was giving threat calls to the people voting in the polling booths by the Akali Dal members. And money was also being distributed to lure the people. He said it was everybody’s duty to ensure that a fair election was being conducted. That was why he had gone out. The actor says he will abide by the law and hopes that the elections will be conducted fairly.
With many parties vying for the seats, it would definitely be a multi-cornered content in the Punjab assembly polls.
