Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to be telling a Spider-Verse story at first glance. But at the same time, the story goes that Marvel Studios turns to a completely different storyline for this third solo film for spiders.
It is rumored that Kevin Feige is looking for inspiration to the comics Amazing Spider-Man by J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita. At least, this is reported by Reddit user Pomojema_SWNN, who has repeatedly turned out to be a reliable source of information.
A collaboration
The story about Amazing Spider-Man on which Feige would base himself is threefold. Peter Parker teams up with Doctor Strange to protect New York City. But as soon as he steps through a portal with the Sorcerer Supreme, he relives events from his past.
In the comics, we see Peter Parker wake up in a younger body and fight all his enemies from the past. This Spidey doesn’t have that many old known villains, but probably he steps through a portal and ends up in other universes.
Thus, we could meet actors like Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire , as well as old villains who their versions competed against.
