Squid Game fame award-winning actor Oh Young-soo will be under trial for indecent assault on a women who have alleged him of inappropriately touching her back in 2017, as stated by a court in South Korea.
The Seongnam district court averred on Thursday that the prosecutors had indicted the 78-year-old past week based on the allegations filed by the complainant and his trial is supposed to commence in February. Kim Myeong-un, working at the Seongnam’s district prosecutors’ office, mentioned that it is not possible to verify and confirm the entire proceedings and details related to the case yet.
Reports claim that the anonymous woman who had filed the complain had met Oh Young in 2017 and then accused him officially in December 2021.
South Korean outlet JTBC mentioned the fact that even though the refuted all the allegations made against him he ad offered the woman an apology note as she supposedly told him that she “wouldn’t raise an issue”. The actor claimed that he was trying to help the lady and “show her the way” as they walked past the lake.
Oh has emerged as the first South Korean actor to win the coveted Golden Globe in January for Squid Game in the Best Supporting actor category. He has also been an Emmy Award nominee for his role as Oh Il-nam, an elderly contestant who appeared to be mysterious and chary later diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
