Filmmaker and screenwriter SS Rajamouli has put together an application at the Academy Awards of the prestigious Oscars for his pre-Indian independence fictional titular box-office hit RRR. The film has been considered in the general category. the power-packed duo of Jr NTR and Ram Charan can be seen in the lead role of the movie.
As of Thursday, an official announcement was posted on the Twitter handle of RRR stating, “We applied to The Academy of Oscars consideration in general category. We wish our RRR family the best and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible. Here is to continue to win hearts and entertain audiences worldwide”.
“We are honoured that RRR’s overwhelming success represented Indian cinema on the global stage by creating milestones at the worldwide box office and uniting film buffs across the world by transcending linguistic & cultural barriers,” the note added.
An illustrious film critic, Courtney Howard took to Twitter to endorse the movie. The tweet read, “#RRRmovie’s RRRoad to the OscaRRRs being paved as we speak. You’ve never seen anything like this movie/ adrenaline rush. I sincerely hope Academy members get out there and see this one”.
Pertaining to the latest news reports, RRR has managed to grab a massive gross collection of more than Rs 1,000 crore in March, overseas, this year. This feature film will be competing in three major categories i.e., best director for SS Rajamouli, best actor for Jr NTR and Ram Charan and best motion pictures for DVV Danaiah.
