When Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out, the old universe of the Star Wars franchise had changed a lot. Suddenly there was the FIrst Order, which had taken it over from the Empire.
The films never showed exactly how that was possible. Somehow you would have expected that the Rebel Alliance was able to deal with the Empire well, but that turned out not to work. Writer Alexander Freed ‘s book Victory’s Price now reveals a little more about how the First Order emerged.
The First Order
The book shows that Palpatine spread his crazy ideas through a will to specific individuals who he said would be willing to fall for the Dark Side. People who would like to work for his crazy plans and perhaps even want to set up the First Order together.
According to Screen Rant, Palpatine deliberately created “a system in which it was impossible for even an ordinary citizen to live without participating in corruption at best and even committing atrocities at worst. He transformed much of the lower part of the city. from Coruscant to a powerful computer that analyzed the actions of each individual so that their cooperation would be clear. “
So Palpatine was building a system“in which everyone did actions every day that were completely focused on the dark.” So there were many people who bore some responsibility for the Empire, and therefore found it “almost impossible to get used to the New Republic. The return of the Empire as the First Order was therefore inevitable.”
