After a long break because of the pandemic, fans were exceptionally eager to get back to Hawkins and dive deeper into the Upside Down and its denizens. All through the last two episodes of the penultimate season, fans were sharing their instant reactions on Twitter, mourning the fallen and celebrating the survivors, and here are probably the best hot take Tweets.
Rollercoaster Of Emotions
These last two episodes are truly a rollercoaster of emotions, starting right after the first volume left off. Nancy had been supposedly chosen as Vecna’s next victim, right as her group was climbing out of the Upside Down. Hopper, Joyce, and Murray are attempting to get away from the Russian compound. Eleven had learned the truth of Vecna’s identity, and Mike and his team are headed her way.
Steve Hive Rejoice!
Alongside Nancy, many fans were very nervous for Steve. It’s very amazing how far the character has come from his debut in the 1st season. At first, he was a main bad guy, however he began his his road to heroism by assisting Nancy and Jonathan in fighting against the Demogorgon. From that point forward he has catapulted to be many fans’ favorite character in the whole series.
Vecna’s Not Done
A big reason this season was so incredible was the main villain, Vecna. He was set up as a different kind of bad guy than in past seasons, mixing the otherworldly power in with a familiar sense of humanity. The twist at the end of the first volume – uncovering that he is the real Number One, Henry Creel, portrayed spectacularly by Jamie Campbell Bower – will go down as one of the best in the series.
Eddie Munson Joins The Battle!
While the beginning of the season nobody truly expected to be so bowled over by such an amazing new character as Eddie Munson, portrayed by Joseph Quinn. His amazing acting skills captured viewers’ hearts with his classic rock aesthetic and enigmatic personality.
One Big Not-So-Happy Family
Among the numerous stunning and jaw-dropping scenes, there are some subtle beats and lines that land just as strongly. That would be the case for Joyce Byers, portrayed by the incomparable Winona Ryder. She is the best of what a parent can be, working eagerly to protect her children, and here she showed that she even include Eleven.
