The irony the host is also a criminal and it proved after 17 years. Yes, Suhaib has been sentenced to life in jail for the murder of his wife 17 years ago.
The 51 years old Suhaib was held guilty of murder by a Delhi court on Saturday. In the year 2000, on January 11, Anju Ilyasi, wife of Suhaib, was found dead in her east Delhi home. Her body had multiple stab wounds. In his statement to police, Suhaib Ilyasi had told that she had committed suicide. But three months later, police arrested him on charges of dowry harassment.
Anju’s mother and sister told a sub-divisional magistrate that she had been driven to suicide by Suhaib Ilyasi. After some years, Anju’s mother demanded a further investigation in the case as she thought her daughter was murdered by Suhaib. Delhi High Court ordered the east Delhi court in 2014 to try him for murder as well.
