Sunny Deol who recently turned politician from an actor recently rescued a 45-year-old woman. Her name is Veena Bedi, she was sold as a slave in Kuwait. She was sold to a Pakistani man by a travel agent. This travel agent conned her by making a fake promise that he would help her land a housekeeping job for a salary of Rs 30,000 per month.

Sunny Deol won the 17th Lok sabha elections from Gurdaspur seat as a BJP candidate, Punjab and now elected as a Member of Parliament from there. He personally intervened into the matter after coming to know about the plea of the victim woman’s family. He promptly contacted the ministry of external affairs and following a swift operation. It turned successful and Bedi was brought back home on Friday.

She was brought back following the efforts of actor and Gurdaspur MP Sunny Deol, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and two NGOs, one based in Kuwait and the other having its office in Canada.
