The India cricket team’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has been picked for the five-match Twenty20 International series against Australia, which begins in Visakhapatnam on November 23, 2023. The majority of the players who competed for India in the Cricket World Cup have been rested, giving the squad a new appearance. The vice-captain for the series against the recently crowned ODI champions is opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Just three players from the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 roster were chosen by the hosts: Prasidh Krishna, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar. But Shreyas Iyer, who will replace Gaikwad as vice-captain for the final two Twenty20 Internationals in Raipur and Bengaluru, will be added to the team.

Guwahati will host the third Twenty20 International, while Thiruvananthapuram will host the second.
The performances of the players that have been selected, including Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will be carefully monitored as India embarks on a time where they would like to offer new players an opportunity, with the 2024 T20 World Cup just a year away.

Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, and Ravi Bishnoi are bowlers. They have all represented India and have sufficient T20 experience. The team’s all-rounders are Washington Sundar, Shivam Dubey, and Axar Patel. The backup wicketkeeper is Jitesh Sharma.

The stars that were chosen have excelled in the Indian Premier League. In the T20I format, the BCCI selectors appear inclined to give the younger players a longer rope.
