Suryakumar Yadav gave a display of his amazing hitting skills with a good 76 as India cantered to a seven-wicket victory vs the West Indies in the 3rd T20 International on Tuesday. India presently leads the five-match series 2-1 with the cricket caravan moving to USA’s Florida for the last two matches of the series. While more than 147 had never been chased in a T20I at the Warner Park ground, Suryakumar chose to alter that script in a 44-ball knock as India made a short work of the 165-run target in 19 overs.
Shreyas Iyer (24 off 26 balls) was a good partner at the other end in a stand of 86 as they made the target look way easier than it really was and that too on a surface which exactly didn’t look batting-friendly during the first part of the match.
Put in to bat first, West Indies finished their innings on 164/5 after opener Kyle Mayers struck 73 off 50 balls and Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer contributed in with some quick toward the finish of the innings.
India pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2-35, while all-rounder Hardik Pandya and seamer Arshdeep Singh also grabbed one wicket each.
India won the series opener by 68 runs, while West Indies won the 2nd match by five wickets. The 4th T20 will be played on Saturday followed by the last game on Sunday.
