At a recent press inquiry actress Sushmita Sen expressed her thoughts about allowing Pakistani actors Fawad Khan to return to Bollywood films. The statement she made has disrupted many people across social media platforms.

Why is this being talked about?
Well-known Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will star in Abir Gulaal alongside Vaani Kapoor in their first Indian movie together. Ameya Khopkar of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena issued tough resistance to the upcoming film. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena under Raj Thackeray maintains a policy which prohibits Pakistani actors from performing in Indian movies.
What did Sushmita Sen say that stirred the internet?
A news reporter approached Sushmita during her Mumbai fashion show to inquire about Pakistani actors participating in Bollywood. She provided an answer in an Instagram video.
The actress said the subject remains unclear to me. Creativity and talent operate without limitation by geographical borders and they should not encounter exclusions. These artistic spheres generate from free expression much like sports and arts do. Creative work needs to remain limitless because it should not exist within geographic boundaries.According to her creative expression functions in a similar way to sports because both fields should remain accessible to everyone independent of their geographical origin.

How did people react online?
Most audience members rejected Sushmita’s perspective. Users expressed their disagreement with the notion that granting Pakistani actors entry into India should allow unrestricted migration to multiple professions. A user asked, “Why do our Indian soldiers give their lives at border locations?” The Indian acting community suffers from skill shortages so much that we must recruit talent from Pakistan according to several people online.
