The famous brand of sports, Adidas has recently launched its Fall/Winter campaign “Superstar”. It focuses on authenticity and features the “icons of tomorrow” – models, artists, activists, and athletes. But the campaign turned into a disaster as soon as the video was posted on the internet.
The reason behind that was Arvida Byström. She is a Swedish artist, model, and photographer, known for advocating against stereotypes and being a big activist of the “no-shave” movement. She can be seen showing her Superstar sneakers which were designed to “redefine beauty”. However, no wonder they caused such controversy.

In the ad video, Arvida casually posed in a white dress, pink shirt, and pastel Superstar shoes. While creating a pretty “girly” image, she also caused a storm for showing her hairy legs and armpits. People started slamming her and lashed out at her for her unshaved legs and armpits. Not only that some people even sending rape threats directly to her.
