Warwickshire defeated Yorkshire by 31 runs to win the North Group and take first place. To advance to the quarterfinals, Yorkshire must now defeat Leicestershire in their final match. The highest total ever scored against Yorkshire in T20 cricket was the 238 that Warwickshire was able to put on the board.
Paul Stirling continued his onslaught against India the previous night on a flat Headingley field, smashing seven sixes and four fours to score 81 off just 41 balls. It was also the fourth-highest score this year. Dan Mousley’s sensational contribution of a 25-ball 63 propelled Warwickshire to a significant score after an innings-mid wobble. Yorkshire got off to a good start thanks to Adam Lyth’s 38-ball 69, but despite surpassing the 200-run threshold, Yorkshire was bowled out for 207 because of poor support from the other end.
Brief scores: Warwickshire 238/5 in 20 overs (Paul Stirling 81, Dan Mousley 63*; Shadab Khan 2-38) beat Yorkshire 207 in 19.2 overs (Adam Lyth 69, Finn Allen 29, Harry Brook 29; Carlos Brathwaite 3-32, Jake Lintott 3-42) by 31 runs.
