The song “Aga Naga,” which plays momentarily when Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan (Karthi) and Kundhavai (Trisha) meet in Palaiyaarai—you remember, the love boat scene—has been demanded to be released by many fans ever since the first installment of Ponniyin Selvan was made public. The music is thus now available and lives up to the anticipation that the first part’s teaser had generated.
The film is not scheduled for a sequel leaving fans in excitement and great expectations. The makers will start with the promotions after the new song from the sequel titled Aga Naga on March 20.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, before the release, Karthi addressed the nature of his role in Sardar. “When we talk about spy films, we automatically start thinking of the high-concept films that are made in the west. What we have been missing is our home-grown spy tales and that’s what Mithran is bringing through Sardar,” he said.
