Being Indian is no easy task. We cannot be guided by one view of India, or how an Indian should look, what he or she should or should not eat or dress or behave. We often meet such narrow-minded people who no matter what discriminate others on the ground of race, color and caste. North-East people are one such example, they often bear the pain of being called Chinese. However, the Bollywood industry is equal for all and these North-East actors are the proof! Read out!

1) Danny Denzongpa

The renowned actor of Bollywood known for both his positive and negative roles. He was born to a Buddhist family in Gangtok, the capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim. He debuted in the Bollywood with film Zaroorat in 1971 and stunned everyone with his amazing acting skills.

2) Patralekha Mishra Paul

She was born on 20 February 1990 in Shillong, Meghalaya.She made her debut with director Hansal Mehta’s Hindi film CityLights alongside Rajkumar Rao.

 

3) Dipannita Sharma

She was born on 2 November 1979 in Duliajan, Assam, India. She worked in many Bollywood films like 16 December, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, My Brother Nikhil, etc.

4) Andrea Tariang

Andrea is into a lot of music, especially contemporary RnB and Soul. She used to play in a band called Lavender Groove. She is from Shillong and debuted in Bollywood with superhit film “PINK”, sharing the screen with Amitabh Bachchan.

5) Lin Laishram

She is a model turned actor who played an important role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film “Rangoon”, where she shares the screen with Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. Apart from this, she will also be featured in Prashant Nair’s film, “Umrika”.
