Taylor Swift, Grammy award winning American singer-songwriter, is thriving in her business with the US leg of her Era Tour being sold out, but her personal life is still unstable given that she split up with Stars at Noon actor Joe Alwyn after six years of relationship.
A close insider to the couple confirmed the news of the separation, according to People, a US-based media outlet. Joe did not attend any of the Era Tour concerts either. A couple of weeks ago, the couple split up.
“It wasn’t dramatic. [The relationship] just ran its course,” a source verified to Page Six.
When the media has asked Joe to confirm the relationship, he has always responded with sarcasm. When questioned by reporters if he and the singer-songwriter were engaged, he responded, “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins.” The actor also mentioned, “I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
Although they hadn’t revealed much about their relationship, the couple had been dating since 2016. Joe and Swift’s collaboration on the 2020 sister albums Folklore and Evermore led to the duo’s Grammy wins for Folklore and Evermore, respectively, in the 2022 awards show. The fictitious William Bowery was Joe’s pen name in the past.
The “You Belong With Me” singer made reference to Joe in her acceptance speech for an award, averring, “Joe is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine”.
