The Batman, Adam West has died at 88. The American actor was best known for his role as a Batman in 1966-1968 ABC series. He died on Friday night at his home in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was suffering from leukemia according to a statement by his family on the popular social media site, Facebook.
A family spokesperson took Facebook to wrote on actor’s official Facebook page. The statement reads:
“It’s with great sadness that we are sharing this news… Adam West passed away peacefully last night after a short but brave battle with leukemia. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. There are no words to describe how much we’ll miss him.”
Adam West was born on September 19, 1928. His full name was William West Anderson. His acting career spanned seven decades means near about 70 years. Popular among the fans as Adam West, he had made a record 156 individual screen appearances as Batman, including 120 in the live-action television series, along with several animated series.
Not only this, he also won widespread acclaim as the voice of the nutty Mayor Adam West of Quahog in Fox’s long-running animated series “Family Guy.” He was a great actor who did a wide range of voice-over work on various TV shows, for example, Disney Channel’s “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” in recent year. He was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 5, 2012.
