Season 3 of the Prime Video series The Boys based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book series of the same name, is hurtling toward what will doubtlessly be an explosive conclusion now that Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), America’s greatest superhero sometime before Homelander (Antony Starr), has broken out of his cryogenic chamber where he was held and tortured by the Russians for quite a long time.
In Episode 4, “Glorious Five Year Plan,” the Boys go on a trip to Russia in order to find the mysterious anti-supe weapon that brought Soldier Boy down so they can utilize it to kill Homelander. At the point when they show up at the chaos ensues follows as a suped-up Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) fight off Russian security prior to opening up a secured chamber that they expect should hold the weapon. Instead, they find none other than Soldier Boy himself. He rises up out of the smoke, sporting a bushy beard, yet he hasn’t aged a day. After he unleashes a blast of energy from his chest, badly injuring Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), he escapes to Manhattan where he hears a song playing on the radio. The song triggers painful memories of him being tortured in Russia, making a burst of energy to explode from his chest, killing 19 innocent people.
The Boys get a tip from the Legend (Paul Reiser), Vought’s former VP of Hero Management before Madelyn Stillwell (Elisabeth Shue), that after the blast Soldier Boy visited him to get the location of his previous girlfriend and fellow Payback member, Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden). The Boys get to Crimson Countess first, with Butcher tackling her right while she is the middle of a camgirl session with @Sir-Cums-A-Lot-779 on Supe Porn Platinum. Butcher and M.M. (Laz Alonso) restrain Crimson Countess and tell her Soldier Boy is coming for her.
Soldier Boy shows up, and we quickly learn that it was none other than Crimson Countess and the other members of Payback who double-crossed Soldier Boy and sold him to the Russians. Filled with vengeance, Soldier Boy asks her how much the Russians paid her. To his shock, she lets him know that they didn’t pay her anything. Stunned and enraged, he shares that during all his years being tortured and experimented by the Russians, he still held onto the hope that Crimson Countess would come and save him since he actually loved her.
Crimson Countess, obviously recognizing that this get-together is most certainly not going to end well for her, drills the final nail in the coffin. She tells him, ” I didn’t love you. I hated you. We all did.” The moment parallels Homelander and Queen Maeve’s (Dominique McElligott) confrontation prior in the episode where Homelander inquires as to whether any of their relationship was real, and she expresses delicately in his ear, “From the start, I hated you. But what’s more, I fucking pitied you.” After Crimson Countess’ unapologetic confession, Soldier Boy explodes energy from his chest and burns her to a crisp, taking her whole trailer down with her.
