According to actor Cillian Murphy, because director Christopher Nolan faithfully adheres to the screenplay, audiences won’t get to witness any deleted sequences from Oppenheimer.
In the Christopher Nolan-directed picture, Murphy, who played American theoretical scientist J Robert Oppenheimer, claimed that Nolan’s films don’t contain any extra material.
“There’s no deleted scenes in Chris Nolan movies that’s why there are no DVD extras,” Murphy said in conversation to Collider.
He added that Oppenheimer is indeed not an exception. “The script is the movie. He knows exactly what’s going to end up. He’s not fiddling around with it trying to change the story. That is the movie,” the actor added.
Nolan had previously discussed the absence of supplementary material in his films in 2012.
“I tend to try and weed things out on paper because it’s crazy expensive to shoot things that aren’t going to be in the film. It also takes up a lot of time and energy. Pretty much with all my films, there are very few deleted scenes, which always disappoints the DVD crowd,” he told MTV.
According to US media sources, Oppenheimer has generated $552.9 million globally since its premiere three weeks ago.
