Nutella, every day millions of people buy this product and feed it to their families. It is a brand of sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread manufactured by the Ferrero, an Italian company. It was first introduced in 1964. Is it a nutritious product? Well not! It contains Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), also known as E621, toxic GMO emulsifier soy lecithin and palm oil.
Vanillin is about 95% of the scent. Moreover, Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) is hidden inside it. MSG consists of 78% glutamate, 12% sodium, and about 10% water, it has been proven to act as an excitotoxin which stimulates the reward system of the brain. Excitotoxin plays an important role in the development of the diseases such as Parkinson, Huntington and Alzheimer.
Soy Lecithin is commonly used as an emulsifier to keep fats and water from separating in foods like peanut butter, chocolate candies and ice cream etc. Basically, it is a waste product as it contains pesticides and solvents. The majority of soy sources in the world are genetically modified (GM). This kind of soy contains high concentrations of plant toxicants.
Palm oil raises blood cholesterol levels. According to the Realities Watch, A 1997 British analysis evaluated 147 human trials and concluded that palmitic acid, an active ingredient in palm oil, raised total blood cholesterol levels.
The production process of Nutella is very similar to a generic production of chocolate spread. In the United States, Ferrero was sued for false advertising that Nutella has nutritional and health benefits (from advertising claims that Nutella was “part of a nutritious breakfast”).
