Thor: Love and Thunder took fans on a colorful journey through the Marvel cosmos. Much of the adventure was exactly what we’ve come to expect from director Taika Waititi. But parts of the movie were pretty heavy too!
The biggest threat in Thor: Love and Thunder is, of course, Gorr, who goes on a quest to kill all the gods. He doesn’t want to kill them one by one, but uses Thor’s Stormbreaker to open the gate to Eternity, a special dimension where he can make a wish come true.
Thor: Love and Thunder ending
At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Gorr manages to reach Eternity. But Thor Odinson and Jane Foster Mighty Thor go with him. Only they can no longer fight against Gorr, after which Thor asks the villain not to take revenge on the gods and to bring back his daughter.
In his last moments in existence, Gorr chooses to do so and Jane dies of cancer made worse by her time as Thor. Thor takes over the role of parent to Gorr’s daughter, as promised. The two now fight together as a team, Thor with his old hammer Mjolnir and his daughter with Stormbreaker. Together they are called, as we hear from Korg, Love & Thunder.
After the credits, we see that Zeus is still angry with Thor for stealing his lightning bolt. He wants the universe to fear the gods again. And so he sends his son Hercules to kill Thor!
At the very end, we see Jane Foster being welcomed in Valhalla by Heimdall.
