In the year 2014, a campaign was launched on great Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, it was named Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It was launched by our current Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi with a motive to make India clean. But was it effective? It’s been three years now of its launch and it seems a great work has to be done yet.
Well, what could be the better way than cinema to make people know the importance of Swachh Bharat mission in our country. Good films that raised social and societal issues somewhere impact people. Take the example of film Rang De Basanti, film’s candle march scene gave activism a non-violent voice that heard in the real world. The other film Taare Zameen Par spread the message that every kid is unique and has different needs.
Likewise, Khiladi Akshay Kumar is all set to release his film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Of course! Along with providing a dose of entertainment, the film will raise India’s trouble with toilets, especially in the rural areas. The film is a satirical comedy made to support Swachh Bharat Mission to get a Swachh Azadi.
The film will focus on sanitation conditions of India, as per the reports 4,861 of 5,161 cities across the country do not have even a partial sewerage network. It means we got Azadi since 1947 but Swachh Azadi is way too far to get. But as it is said, nothing is too big that it can’t be achieved! Our efforts together towards making a clean India will bring us Swachh Azadi soon, which is everyone’s right to get!
Film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will narrate that human behavior is a key reason why our cities and villages are not clean. By making ‘Swachchata’ a moral cry — the mission has become the biggest political attempt against open defecation and for public cleanliness. So don’t miss out to watch Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha releasing on August 11, 2017, just four days before Independence Day.
