Guys, we really have to do something about time, because these days it seems to fly in a blink of an eye. Anyways, We are already at what is left of May and are all set to face June. But one thing is for sure, the month of May gave us some good movies to watch on ZEE5, and that is what I’m here to talk about today. For all the newbies, ZEE5 is an online streaming service that drops some good movies and web series on their platform to enhance the viewing experience of its customers and they have been doing it for some time now! Today, we are listing down some of the best movies that were released in the month of May on ZEE5 that you should pick up for this weekend.

The Accidental Prime Minister: Ever since its trailer hit the internet, I was very much excited to watch this movie. The Accidental Prime Minister narrates the events that took place in our country under the tenure of Dr Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister of India. From the source material to the casting, each element of the movie was spot on, making it better than any other political drama that was released in recent days. The well-crafted movie received good responses from the critics, with The Economic Times calling Anupam Kher’s performance a convincing one.
Why Cheat India: Exactly! Why cheat India and its people with bad movies, instead give them one like this one that is actually worth watching. The 2019 movie narrates the life of Rakesh Kumar Singh AKA Rocky who after getting conned by the Indian Education System in his childhood grows up to take revenge on it. This Emraan Hashmi starrer made headlines even before it hit the theatre due to a name change. Just a few days before the movie’s release the title of the movie was changed from Cheat India to the Why Cheat India. Coming to the performances, Emraan Hashmi steals the show, as always. Newcomer Shreya Dhanwanthary displays some promise with a raw yet powerful performance. Though I missed it in the theatre, I checked it out as soon as it hit ZEE5.
Onek Diner Pore: One woman can make a difference, and a bunch of them can rock the world. This movie set friendship goals way too high for women. Onek Diner Pore is a ZEE5 Original movie that shows how 4 women in their early 30s meet reveal their darkest secret at a school reunion. The characterisations are on point, and that makes this movie a fun watch for anyone. The casting was spot on and Swastika Mukherjee’s performance was nothing short of amazing. Focussing on varied issues that affect women today, this buddy film is sure to strike a chord with women from all age groups with its frank depiction.
Badnaam Gali: If you think being single is hard, then imagine how hard it would be to be a single woman who is also pregnant with a baby. This ZEE5 original is one of its kind. The movies do not have a preachy tone but still managed to break stereotypes. Badnaam Gali is about this how Nyonika (Patralekha) (a single pregnant woman) ends up meeting Randeep (Divyendu Sharma) who has recently moved to Delhi due to the difference in opinion between him and his family members. Along with the crackling chemistry between the lead pair, the unique and progressive plotline is all the reason one needs to watch the movie on ZEE5.
Natasaarvabhowma: I’m speechless when it comes to this movie and for all the right reasons. The 2019 Kannada movie marks the first horror flick from Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. The movie also marks the Kannada debut of the Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran. The movie revolves around the life of a journalist Gagan Dixit (Puneeth) who witnesses strange changes in his behaviour after moving into a haunted house in Bengaluru. What follows is an intriguing sequence of events that will keep you glued to your seats. While the action and dance sequences continue to be awesome, thanks to Power Star, the writing and direction give the movie a thrilling and fresh feel.
Oh Boy! What a month May has been for ZEE5. I hope they continue to surprise us with such great movies in the upcoming months as well.
