Inter Milan are continuing their talks with Chelsea in the hopes of re-signing Romelu Lukaku, with an improved offer expected after their initial approach was rejected.
Inter are willing to cover the entirety of Lukaku’s salary, and after seeing a proposed fee of around €5 million rejected by Chelsea, they are expected to reach a better figure.
Lukaku has developed a strong bond with Boehly, who first signed him from Anderlecht when he was 18 years old in 2011.
One of the previous reasons for Lukaku’s departure from Chelsea was the squabble between Thomas Tuchel and Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea considerably are in search of new buyers and the financial issue does not come in play. Rather the understanding between Lukaku and Tuchel has gone too worse to ever get better which is one of the reasons why Lukaku is ready to join Inter.
“The fact that they [Inter Milan] didn’t try to make me sign a new contract bothered me a bit, it hurt me even,” Lukaku said in his controversial interview. “If Inter offered me a new contract, I would have stayed 100 per cent. That goes without saying.
“Also the fact that I hadn’t won anything in England in eight years there bothered me a lot. So it was hard to turn down the chance to come back here with the team I have supported since I was a child.”
