During an episode of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Akshay Kumar told Mallika Dua: “aap bell bajaaiye, main aapko bajaata hoon”. The comment turned out to be a huge controversy and went on to be objected by both Vinod Dua and Mallika.
Twinkle Khanna Has Come In Support Of Akshay Kumar
Twinkle Khanna posted a note on Twitter in which she wrote: “I would like to address the controversy on the sets of The Laughter Challenge. The show has a bell which the judges ring after a contestant’s exceptional performance and when Ms Dua went forward to ring the bell, Mr Kumar said, “Mallika Ji aap bell bajao main aapko bajata hun” A pun on the words and actions related to ringing the bell.
“It’s a colloquial phrase that both men and women use – for instance, “I am going to bajao him/her” or “I got bajaoed”, Red FM even has a tagline ‘Bajatey Rao’ all without sexist connotations.”
What If SRK Or Aamir Did It?
Let’s improvised the question now or in simple words what if Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan commented on a woman like Akshay did?
Akshay has always pro-Modi attitude. In February 2015, Akshay responded to a question, “Does he think with Narendra Modi as prime minister, India is now more secure?”
Akshay said: “With my hand on my heart, I believe 100 percent that we are not only in safe hands, but being led by a man with a conscience as well as a necessary fighting spirit.”
BJP’s Attitude Towards Aamir And SRK
We have seen many times that Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan – part of the triumvirate of Khans that also includes Salman Khan – were targeted for whatever comments they made. BJP ran an online campaign against Bollywood star Aamir Khan for his comments on growing intolerance in the country while SRK has been targetted from the last 3 year more often.
