The Udta Punjab controversy really had a lot of things to say but the biggest shock has come just now. The censor board chief, Pahlaj Nihalani has accused Anurag Kashyap, the co-producer of the movie of taking money from the AAP government to show Punjab in the bad light.
“I heard Anurag Kashyap took money from Aam Aadmi Party,” said Pahlaj.
Earlier it had also come to reports that the censorship of the movie was due to some political matters but Pahlaj denied those reports. “The center never interferes with the Censor Board, there was No Political Influence,” said Pahlaj.
According to him, one can only judge the censorship of the movie after watching it, then only he or she will get to know that why the CBFC demanded the director to remove “Punjab” from the title.
The Udta Punjab controversy even forced Anurag Kashyap to compare the country with North Korea and this is what Pahlaj replied to it, “If Kashyap thinks CBFC under me like ‘North Korea’, so be it, he can say that as he has the freedom of speech.”
The film is supposed to be released on 17th June but there is still no information about when is this controversy is going to end.
