Famous Pakistani Cricketer Umar Akmal Declared Dead on Social Media, Death Hoax?

Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal is really facing a bad time over the past few months. It all because of his public outburst against Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur. And what he has witnessed now is truly bizarre! Social media left the 27 years old batsman gobsmacked! Actually, he was declared dead on social media.

A social media user posted a photo of an injured man who looked like Akmal, claiming he was dead in an accident. When the news went viral and started taking the Internet by storm, the cricketer himself took the charge and cleared that he is alive. He also added a video for good measure. Back in August, Umar had dug a bit of hole for himself after a fiery press conference where he targeted Arthur after being denied use of facilities at the National Cricket Academy. The cricketer said that,

“I had gone to England for rehabilitation of my knee injury. After I recovered, I went to the NCA to start working on my fitness and training. But the coaching staff doesn’t want to work with me at all. When I asked why all those international coaches didn’t want to work with me, they responded that they wanted to prioritise working with players who had central contracts. I said that I too am an international Pakistan cricketer, and if my fitness is lacking – and I admit that along the way my fitness has been found wanting – they should help me.”

However, later he felt repenting for his words.
