On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the officials to build “Gaushalas” in seven districts of Bundelkhand region and also in the area under 16 municipal corporations.
He further released a statement after a meeting in which he said that cow protection committees should be constructed to ensure the safety of cows in gaushalas (cow shelter). Also, the committee will be completely responsible for the shelter.
The whole process will be carried out under the supervision of UP Gausewa Ayog and at starting stage, each gaushala will have the capacity to provide shelters to 1,000 cows.
Also, committees will be set up under the district magistrates for proper running of gaushalas. Regarding this, directives have already been issued.
It further added that officials are ordered to find a solution to the problem of stray cattle and to guarantee water, fodder, and protection of the animals.
