In Indian cinema, historical films are making rounds one after the other. Upcoming films that are soon going to hit the screen are “Panipat”, “Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior” and “Prithviraj Chauhan”
Filmmakers are currently making several films dating back to medieval history. From Mughal history to British rule, stories are being presented in their own dimension. Directors are making the film on stories or legends from history. But these movies often fall prey to controversy. Ideologies about the history and its boundaries begin to collide and then result in disputes. After the release of Panipat, there is a similar film in front of the audience which will be coming soon in theatres and there is a lot of controversy regarding this film as well. As far as “Panipat” is concerned, the film is into lots of controversies before it’s release. The people of Afghanistan first raised questions about Ahmed Shah Abdali. At the same time, the filmmakers were also accused of stealing the script. The film features Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles. The story of this film is based on the third war of Panipat in which Marathas faced the Afghans in this war.
Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior – Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer film ‘Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is also scheduled to release on 10 January. The film is based on the life of Tanaji Malsure, the Subedar of Chhatrapati Shivaji. In this film, Ajay Devgan is playing the role of ‘Tanji’. At the same time, Saif Ali Khan will be seen in the role of Udaybhan Singh. Some leaders of Maharashtra have warned about this film too .Dr. Jitendra wrote in the tweet- “Om Raut, I saw the trailer of your film Tanaji. You have included many scenes in the film in which is not mentioned anywhere in history. Change them as soon as possible, or else I will have to deal with my own way…
Prithvi Raj Chauhan- Akshay Kumar is coming with a similar historical script. He is making a historical biopic this time. This time he is bringing the story of Emperor Prithvi Raj Chauhan on screen. The poster for this film has been released. In this Yash Raj Films production film, Akshay Kumar plays Prithviraj. The film is expected to be released on Diwali in 2020, although the release date has not been finalized yet.
