The popular filmmaker of Bollywood Sajid Nadiadwala turns 51 now. Apart from film career Sajid Nadiadwala was famous for his personal life. He got married to Divya Bharti. The most surprising thing was only after 11 months of being married Divya Bharti died. In an interview just after the death of Divya Bharti Sajid said that Divya decided to marry him hurriedly.
Only at the age of 16 years Divya first met Sajid. In 1990 in film city when Govinda and Divya were shooting for their film Shola Aur Shabnam, Sajid came to meet his friend Govinda. Govinda made them met first and gradually they both fell in love. In an interview, Sajid told that on January 15, 1992, Divya demanded marriage. And on the very next day, she was depressed of link-up rumors of her with other co-actors. To answer such rumours she wanted to marry me.
On 20 may 1992, in the presence of hair-dresser Sandhya and her husband, Sajid and Divya got married. In the Versova situated apartment of Sajid, Qazi did their Nikaah. Divya turned to Islam and changed her name to Sana. Sajid told in an interview,
We hid our marriage from media as it would effect Divya’s film career. However, I wanted to reveal this in front of the world. Divya also wanted to tell about our marriage to everyone but I always denied her to do so. Probably! I shouldn’t do this.
Divya’s death is still a mystery, some people thinks of it as a suicide, some as a murder and some as an incident but the reality is still an unsolved riddle. Here are some hidden facts of her death:
On 5th April 1993, she fell down from 5th story of Tulsi apartments, Versova (Mumbai). She signed a deal for a new apartment on the same day she died. She decided to meet her designer friend Neeta Lulla and her husband Dr. Shyam Lulla. At 10 p.m when all three of them were talking and drinking, suddenly Divya went to the kitchen and sat on a window which had no grills and fell down accidently on a concrete floor. After falling she was all in blood but still breathing. She was taken to the Cooper Hospital Mumbai in an emergency where she died.
